I don’t think you can really wear black to a wedding. It’s not right -just like red and white aren’t.
Sheila @ 5:38 pm:
Sure you can. I’ve been to weddings where the BRIDESMAIDS are wearing black! It’s very fashionable. But really - why wear black. Full-figured women are always stuck in black. I say break out into colors!

Ofcourse, you can wear black. What happens when someone is getting married in the winter. My brides maid wore black. The only color that would be cause too much attention is white. But everything else is all reign.

Where I come from you would never wear black to a wedding. Wouldn’t wear red or white either.

I agree - you really shouldn’t wear black to weddings. It’s disrespectful. In answer to “what happens when someone is getting married in the winter” - there are tons of dark and jewel tone colors to choose from. How about a deep rich, chocolate brown? Or maybe a vibrant emerald green? Maybe a deep blue? Really - curvy girls - there are more colors out there than black!!

So I just got invited to an outdoor wedding in October. Any of you girlies have suggestions for that tricky time of year? Could be hot. Could be cold. Could be sunny. could be raining. Heck it could snow.

Also try the Dress Directory. I think they are a sister site to Elegant Plus, but I’m not 100% sure. But they do list quite a big selection of plus-size dresses for all sorts of occasions from a variety of stores - many in spots you’d never think to look yourslef.
I just found the PERFECT dress for my little sisters wedding at the end of September there. Yahoo!!!

Outdoor weddings at this time of year are so hard to shop for! I’ve been scouring the stores for something with sleeves for a wedding I’m going to in two weeks that’s outdoors. I don’t want to wear a wrap dress which is all I seem to be able to find……. I might have to settle for something cute and sleeveless and wear a sweater over it. UGH.
