________________________________
Chamein Canton, a native New Yorker, began her fascination with all things wedding and event planning as a little girl growing up on Long Island. By the age of three she’d already made her first of many proto-types of a wedding cake. Once she became a teenager she often found it hard to pass bridal magazines without taking a peek. A born romantic, she married early and subsequently gave birth to twin boys.
As a longtime “big girl”, she is well acquainted with the challenges Plus-size women face in fashion. And as someone living with multiple sclerosis since 1996, she’s learned how to navigate her way through a world that’s not always disabled friendly
Chamein is a published author of humorous fiction for full-figured and disabled women. “MS Doesn’t Stand for Multiple Sclerosis”, a story about a woman coming to terms with her life and MS and You’re Getting Married?, a novel based on a bad experience in the bridal salon as a full-figured bride to be, were published under Writers Club Press in 2000. Her latest book, published in 2006, is the first plus-size bridal guide, You Go Down That Aisle in Style!
Chamein’s Creative Elegance catering and wedding consulting business is Afterward Dessert Cafe Baked Goods Line.
