Lisa Klobucar was born and raised in Michigan and continues to find new and unique things to do in her home state. After earning a degree in English from Michigan State she began writing for various publications and newsletters. Often humorous articles would run in the local paper or in national publications such as BBW Magazine or USA TODAY.

She’s very active in several groups in Michigan that promote size acceptance such as Volupt Lounge. A lifelong “big girl” she’s had to break down many barriers that society set before her. In 1998 she became disabled after having her second daughter. She’s the mom to two very active girls or as her friends call them D.I.T.s (Divas in Training). If anything, her disability has given her the strength to continue on, as an example for her girls and as a character builder for herself. A long time promoter of self esteem, she fully believes that if your self-esteem isn’t healthy then you aren’t either!

You can find her contributions to Elegant Plus Magazine in the Hello Gorgeous! column.
